Engine Commissioning Engineer

An Engine Commissioning Engineer is required to test and modify engines against customer performance specifications.

Duties include installing the engine into the test bed facility so that it will run safely; carrying out the required schedule of tests and produce / store the results of the tests while liaising with customers as necessary; identifying any failures of the engine to meet specifications, diagnose causes and modify to meet specifications

A good working knowledge of and experience of working with diesel engines is needed especially an understanding of power characteristics and the relationship of outputs to a range of engine settings and inputs. A formal apprenticeship that includes City and Guild Level II would be required as the basis of the job.
