Senior Software Engineer / Biometrics

Senior Software Engineer (Biometrics) - UK, South West

We are a small company working in the exciting field of Iris Biometrics (using digital images of the iris of human eyes to verify or recognise the identity of people). We have significant recent international success in licensing our technology to product developers, and are looking for an experienced, well-qualified Senior Software Engineer to translate our R&D effort into software products, and to manage our code base. Their immediate workload will involve the coding of techniques for image processing, image quality metrics, image segmentation, pattern recognition and feature extraction, and managing version control of our software development kits which are licensed to customers for use in developing both commercial and research applications.

Candidates must be qualified to degree level in an Engineering, Physics or Maths related discipline, and ideally have a higher degree or project specialization in image/signal processing or pattern recognition; they should also have a minimum of five yrs experience in a commercial software engineering role involving version control methodology and the management of customer support (in terms of software releases). Fluency in C++, Visual Studio, .NET, Windows and strong math, numerical and algorithm coding skills are also important requirements for the job. The successful candidate will be joining a small team of specialists in a stimulating work environment, and will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of Biometrics design and development technology.
