    Tait Radio Communications is a global leader in designing and delivering radio solutions which are the right fit for a variety of industries including: public safety agencies, government services, utilities and urban transport providers. The company is now looking to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to join its UK engineering team based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

    The Project Engineer will have overall technical responsibility for a range of assigned projects for customers in various marketplaces. Specific tasks will include the evaluation of project feasibility prior to commencement; the preparation of technical specifications and project scheduling; and management of all technical aspects during project implementation. The Project Engineer may also be required to act as a Product Specialist on certain projects, and will be included in a standby call out roster to provide technical support to some of the company’s major customers.

    Candidates for the Project Engineer role must be qualified to BTEC/HNC/HND or degree level in a relevant discipline and have extensive experience working in a PMR environment. Applicants should also have an excellent knowledge of radio communications engineering (both in theory and in practice), and a good understanding of the kind of radio systems used by professional radio users. The ideal candidate will have a detailed technical understanding the Company\'s (or competitors\') products and a good working knowledge of TCP/IP routers, multiplexes etc. First-rate documentation skills and a good basic understanding of quality standards and procedures would also be advantageous.

    The role would suit a self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well on their own initiative with minimal supervision. A thorough and methodical approach to work and good man-management skills are also important requirements for the job. The role will involve regular international travel.
